Volunteer: Meals that Heal

Families staying at a Ronald McDonald House spend long hours caring for their children at an area hospital. Through our Meals that Heal program, volunteers cook meals at the Ronald McDonald House for families, allowing them to spend more time together, without the stress of cooking or the expense of dining out.

Helpful tips as you plan your meal:

Maximum of 8 volunteers per group. If you have a large group, consider signing up for multiple days or coming once a month. All food preparation and cooking must be done on RMHC property or in a commercially licensed kitchen in order for us to comply with health and safety regulations. We recommend contacting the House the day prior to your scheduled date to get an estimate of how many guests are staying at the House.Store-bought items must be in original, unopened packaging.Anyone 18 years old or younger must be accompanied by an adult at all times. All student groups must have at least 1 adult supervisor at all times.

Volunteer: Interested in becoming a student volunteer?

As a Helping Hands Volunteer, you'll make a direct and immediate impact on children and families during some of their most difficult times. Geared toward high school students, volunteering at Ronald McDonald House is more than just service hours — it’s an opportunity to grow, learn, and make a difference. Students walk away knowing they’ve eased the burden for families with seriously ill or injured children, while also gaining teamwork, communication, and service skills they can carry into the future. What you may do:

Clean, sanitize and organize common areas and playroom.

Restock kitchen, pantry and storage areas.

Support staff with light administrative or organizational tasks.

Organize donations.

Special event support.

If you'd like to get involved, please share your interest with us by selecting Respond, and a member of our team will be in touch!

*Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign waiver.

Please note: We are unable to accommodate court-mandated community service requests.

Program: Student/Teen Volunteer
